The Ultimate Guide to Remake Patek Philippe PP Nautilus 5726 and Specialty Stores (Everything You Need to Know Before Buying)

Okay, guys, so I got this idea stuck in my head the other day. I really wanted to remake a Patek Philippe Nautilus, specifically the 5726 model. You know, the one you always see in those fancy watch stores? Yeah, that one. I’ve always been into watches, but the price tag on those things? Forget about it! So, I thought, why not try to make one myself? I know it won’t be the real deal, but it would still be a cool project, right?

First things first, I needed to find some good pictures and specs of the watch. I spent hours, and I mean hours, online just looking at photos from every angle. I wanted to make sure I got all the little details right. I started with some research about its history and design. That was what some guys online talked about.

Then came the fun part – actually making the thing!

Planning and Gathering

I started with gathering all the stuff I needed to do this project.

  • Watch Movements: I ordered them online.
  • Watch Cases and Bands: I tried to find them in some local shops.
  • Dials and Hands: I thought I could craft them by myself.
  • Tools: I already got some basic tools like screwdrivers and pliers.
  • Reference Materials: I printed out all those pictures and diagrams.

Assembly

With everything in front of me, I started working on the dial first. I sketched out the design based on the photos I collected. This was trickier than I thought it would be, by the way. I used some thin metal sheets and started shaping and painting. It took a few tries, but I finally got something that looked somewhat decent.

Next, I worked on the watch hands. These were super tiny and delicate. I tried to make them as similar to the original as possible, but man, it was hard! I had to be really careful not to mess them up.

The movement was the most complicated part. I practiced on some old, broken watches first, just to get the hang of it. Then, I took a deep breath and started putting the movement into the case. This was nerve-wracking! One wrong move and I could ruin the whole thing. But after some trial and error, and a lot of patience, I managed to get it in there.

Final Touches

Once the movement was in, I attached the dial and the hands. This was super satisfying, seeing all the parts come together. I then sealed the case and attached the band. And there it was – my homemade Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726.

It’s definitely not perfect. Some parts are a bit rough, and it doesn’t have that smooth, polished look of the real one. But hey, I made it myself! And that’s something I’m really proud of. It was a lot of work, but I learned so much during this project. Plus, now I have a unique watch that no one else has. It might not be a real Patek Philippe, but it’s my Patek Philippe. And that’s pretty cool if you ask me.

So, that’s my story of making a “Patek Philippe” watch. It was a wild ride, but I’m glad I did it. What do you guys think? Would you ever try something like this?
