This here watch, they call it the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, it’s a real fancy name, ain’t it? I saw it in that official shop, the flagship one. You know, the kind where everything is shiny and costs a whole lot of money. But this watch, it’s something else, I tell ya.
That Moonwatch Thing
They say this watch went to the moon. Can you believe that? On one of them Apollo missions, with them astronaut fellas. This Speedmaster Professional, that’s what they call it. Seems like a pretty big deal, going all the way to the moon. Must be a sturdy thing to survive that trip. If you get a real one, not one of them copy ones, you know it is good.
- Went to the moon
- Worn by astronauts
- Special name: Speedmaster Professional
CopyOMEGA, Is It Good?
Now, this one I saw, it’s a copy. But they still call it OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch, too. Makes it confusing, don’t it? But the shop, it’s all official and proper, so maybe the copy is good too? They use that big word, “Professional.” I reckon it’s still a good watch, even if it ain’t the real moon one. But that official flagship store, they sure do make it sound fancy.
I heard them talkin’ about the inside of the watch. They said it’s got some special parts, high-grade they called ’em. Caliber something, 1863, I think? Sounds complicated. All those little gears and things, must be a pain to put together. But I guess that’s what makes it a good watch, all them fancy parts working together like a well-oiled machine. They stopped making them Speedmaster Reduced in 2009.
What It Looks Like
This watch, it ain’t small. It’s a good size, you can see it real good. They said 42 millimeters. Whatever that means. It’s thick too, like a good piece of cornbread. And it glows in the dark! They put some special stuff on the hands and them little marks, so you can see the time even when it’s pitch black. They call it Super-LumiNova. It is the same as the real one, they said. If you can see it in the dark, it might be real, or a good copy.
They changed the shape of it, too, sometime back. This new one, it’s based on the 4th one they made. So, it’s like an old design, but new. It is all very confusing. But they like to change things, I guess, keep things fresh. Still a Speedmaster Moonwatch, though. That name sticks, like honey on your fingers.
Real or Fake?
Now, how can you tell if it’s a real one, or one of them fakes? Well, they say you gotta look close. If it feels cheap, like it’s made of tin, then it’s probably fake. And the writing on it, if it’s all messy and crooked, that’s another sign. Real ones got numbers on ’em, serial numbers, they call ’em. And they should be smooth, not rough like sandpaper.
- Check if it feels cheap
- Look at the writing
- Look for the serial numbers
- It should feel smooth
That Open Back
This one, it’s got an open case back. That means you can see all them little gears and things inside, working away. It’s kinda neat, I gotta admit. Like looking under the hood of a car. But it makes me nervous, too. Seems like all them tiny parts could get messed up real easy if you ain’t careful.
But folks seem to like that, seeing the insides. Makes it feel special, I guess. Like you got a little secret machine on your wrist. This CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, it’s trying to be just like the real thing, with that open back and all.
Worth the Money?
Now, I don’t know about you, but I ain’t got that kind of money to spend on a watch. But if you do, and you want a fancy watch that looks like it went to the moon, then maybe this is the one for you. Even if it is a copy. That official flagship store, they wouldn’t sell no junk, would they? At least, that is what I hope.
It’s a lot to think about, ain’t it? A watch that looks like it went to the moon, even though it didn’t. But it’s still a nice watch, I reckon. And if it makes you happy, then that’s all that matters. Just make sure you are getting a good one, not some cheap knock-off. This CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch (open case back), it is something to think about.
