Okay, so, you know those PRADA Cleo bags? The ones that look all sleek and fancy? Well, I got it into my head that I was gonna try and remake one. Yep, you heard that right. Me, attempting to recreate a designer bag. It all started when I stumbled upon some info about the PRADA Re-Edition 2000 nylon bag. I was browsing through some online reseller and thought, “Hmm, that looks kinda cool. I wonder if I could make something like that?”
Getting Started
First things first, I dove headfirst into research. I mean, I really dug around to learn everything I could about these bags. I checked out what makes them tick, you know? It is a great investment piece. Turns out, they’re made of this Saffiano leather, which is the real deal, genuine leather and all. And they’ve got that iconic triangle logo thingy. I spent hours, no joke, just soaking up information like a sponge.
Gathering Supplies
Next up, I had to get my hands on some materials. I hit up a bunch of stores, looking for stuff that was pretty close to what PRADA uses. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. These remake Prada bags, you gotta watch out for them. But I managed to find some decent leather and other bits and pieces after a lot of searching. I even found some hardware that looked kinda like the real deal.
The Process
Alright, so here’s where the real fun began. I started by sketching out the design, trying to copy the shape and all the details of the Cleo bag. Then, I got to work cutting the leather. Now, I’m no expert, but I think I did a pretty okay job. I carefully stitched everything together, piece by piece. It was slow going, but I was determined to make it look as close to the original as possible.

This bag is not cheap, so I really wanted to see if I could remake it myself.
The Result
So, how did it turn out? Well, it’s definitely not a perfect replica, but it’s got that Cleo vibe, you know? It’s got that sleek, minimalist look, and it’s actually pretty functional. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s holding up pretty well. It is a great investment piece. And hey, it’s a great conversation starter. People are always asking me where I got it, and I get a kick out of telling them I made it myself. They everywhere these days, tryin’ to trick folks. But if you know what to look for, you can spot the differences.
All in all, it was a fun little project. It was challenging, for sure, but I learned a lot along the way. And who knows, maybe I’ll try my hand at remaking another designer bag sometime. But for now, I’m pretty happy with my homemade PRADA Cleo-ish bag. It’s a great investment piece. It’s unique, it’s got character, and it’s a reminder that sometimes, you can create something pretty awesome with your own two hands.
